Tariq Jamali


Mr. Tariq Jamali holds MBA Degree from University of Dallas, USA and BS (Civil Engineering) from University of Texas at Arlington, USA. He has also completed DAIBP from Institute of Bankers Pakistan, Karachi.

He is a thorough professional banker with 30 years of successful banking career. He joined NBP in 1987 and has held various Senior Management positions at Regional and Head Office levels. He was Zonal Head, Quetta Region, 1990 to 1994, Zonal Head Sibi, 1994 to 1995, Chief Manager, corporate Branch Quetta, 1995 to 1998 and GM Credit /MSW Quetta, 1998 to 1999. His responsibilities entailed the areas of business, operations, credits, compliance, HR, logistics, administration, etc.

His experience in key positions is stretched over the span of 18 years; he is well conversant with all the areas of banking operations especially in business procurement, promoting bank’s product line, client service, credit management, risk analysis, etc.

His key role in every job was to ascertain the up-and-coming business challenges in the overall industry spectrum and performing SWOT analysis of potential trainees for assuring desired level of compatibility between programs being offered and targeted participants. He identified trainable resource and developing stage-wise programs for enabling them to work at their full potential. He worked in close coordination with departments to acquire their preferences training HR particularly in terms of succession planning, Over Draft and creating future trainers.

During his career at NBP he has served as Group Chief of Logistics Support Group, Commercial and Retail Banking Group and Compliance Group. Presently, he was serving as Group Chief, Asset & Recovery Group. He is also Director of National Assets Insurance Ltd, Atlas Power Ltd, Fatima Fertilizer Company Ltd, Galadari Cement Gulf Ltd, Karachi Council on Foreign Relations and National Construction Ltd. He holds an MBA degree from University of Dallas and a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from USA.

Throughout his career he has successfully performed in every challenging sphere of banking activities. He has unique ability to manage resources at finest level by keeping an eye on best industry practices/regulations for effective policy making and formulating strategies for superlative services.
He is armed with diversified work experience, knowledge and knack of working at different levels of management.

Sultana Naheed
SEVP & Group Chief, Commercial & Retail Banking Group

Previously she was Group Chief of Risk Management Group and Credit Management Group

Ms. Sultana Naheed holds a Master's degree in Economics and has also done DAIBP in which she won distinctions and a gold medal. She was also selected in Bank’s talent pool. She is a career banker and possesses vast experience spanning over 34 years. Since joining the Bank in 1984 she has served on numerous important and challenging assignments both in the field and at Head Office. She has led Bank's one of the largest regions Karachi (South) from 2005 to 2010, under her leadership this region was declared "Best domestic region of NBP" and for her extraordinary performance as Regional Business Chief she was awarded Eight certificates of excellence and certificates of appreciation.

In 2010 when she was transferred to Head Office, Karachi (South) region exhibited unprecedented figures for business and profitability as deposits stood at Rs.119.855 billion, advances touched Rs.22.134 billion and profit was at Rs.3.172 billion. In CMG as Wing Head and later on Divisional Head she took many initiatives to streamline the Credit Risk Assessment processes in her unit and in the field and also trained and groomed a team of credit analysts for effective credit appraisal.

During her tenure as Group Chief/Risk Management Group various achievements and improvements were made e.g. establishment of Enterprise Risk Management Wing and review and update of various policies and procedures in RMG.

Though her stay as GC/CMG was for a very short span of around five months, however she took various measures towards improvement of TAT and effective monitoring of credit portfolio of both domestic as well as overseas branches of the Bank.

As the Group Chief of CRBG, the largest Group of the Bank consisting of 37 Regions she has taken various initiatives to improve the performance of the field functionaries/Branches by focusing on high quality customer service and exploring new business.

She is a very active member of Management Committee, Asset and Liability Committee, Credit Committee and Enterprise Risk, and Banking associations and maintaining Coordination with Board of Directors.

Ms. Sultana Naheed is also nominee director of M/s Galadari Cement (Gulf) Limited.

Aamir Sattar
SEVP & Group Chief, Audit & Inspection Group
Joined the Bank in 2000 prior to which he was employed by M/s. KPMG Taseer Hadi & Co., Chartered Accountants. Previously he was Financial Controller of NBP. Currently he is hoding the position of Group Chief, Audit & Inspection Group.  He is a Chartered Accountant.
Muhammad Faraz Haider
SEVP & Group Chief, Compliance Group

Mr. Muhammad Faraz Haider is a highly qualified, certified and experienced professional. He holds MBA degree from Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. To his credit, there are a number of professional certifications from accredited professional bodies. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst from CFA Institute USA, has passed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam from AICPA, USA and is qualified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) from GARP, USA. He is also a Certified Internal Auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditors IIA, USA & Certified Information System Auditor from ISACA, USA. Besides, this he is a certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist from ACAMS, USA and Certified Fraud Examiner from ACFE, USA.

He has varied professional experience of over twenty one years in retail & wholesale banking including central banking, in Compliance & Operational Risk. He has designed and implemented policies and processes and has set up frameworks and functions. Prior to joining NBP, he has worked for numerous organizations in lead positions such as Country Head Operational Risk at Standard Chartered Bank, Head of Compliance at Habib Metropolitan Bank (subsidiary of AG Zurich), Group Head Compliance, Legal & Fraud Risk at NIB Bank (a subsidiary of Temasek Group), Head of Compliance & Operational Risk at NIB Bank, Head of Compliance Wholesale Bank at Standard Chartered Bank, Head of International Treasury at Habib Bank Limited, and Inspecting Officer/Assistant Director in State Bank of Pakistan during initial career years.

He had worked as SEVP/Group Chief, Compliance Group and looked after compliance review program, designing enterprise-wide compliance risk management frameworks and developing written compliance program/policy documents consistent with management objectives and regulatory compliance.

Fouad Farrukh
SEVP & Group Chief, Aitemad Islamic Banking Group

Fouad Farrukh is a seasoned banker with rich and broad-based experience of over 20 years in the banking industry both in Pakistan and in the Middle East. Fouad has diversified experience covering Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Risk Management and Islamic Banking. After completing his BS Finance from the University of Maryland (USA) and MBA from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Fouad Farrukh started his career with Faysal Bank in Corporate Banking.

He joined FBL as Head of Islamic Banking in 2010 and was instrumental in expansion of Islamic Banking Business before being given responsibility of Head of Retail Banking. He has previously worked as Gulf Risk Manager in Habib Bank Limited Dubai, and Country Head in Habib Bank Limited Bahrain, before working with BMI Bank B.S.C (c) Bahrain as Head of Islamic Financial Services.
