Health Year 2012

Eye & Medical Camps
NBP has organized and set up various medical and eye camps in different remote parts of the country as detailed below:

 

Medical Camp - Tehsil Jhal Jhano District Awaran Baluchistan

About 600-700 Patients were examined by dedicated Doctors and provided free medicines. Patients needed further check-up and treatment was transferred at civil hospital Karachi.

 
Eye Camp-Fort Abbas (Cholistan Desert) Bahawalnagar

Tehsil fort Abbas, situated in (Cholistan desert) district Bahawalpur. Majority portion of population works in open field and exposed to sun light, which is the main cause of eye ailment and other diseases. 25 cataract patients were operated upon and 400 patients were supplied free eye sight glasses and medicines.

 
Eye Camp - District Umerkot Sind

An Eye Camp at Umerkot Eye Hospital was arranged, 600 eye patients have been examined, 30 Cataract patients were operated upon and provided with free medicines/eye sight glasses.

 
Medical Camp - Village Lundi Saidan District Rajanpur Punjab

NBP organized a Medical Camp at Village Lundi Saidan- district Rajanpur, Punjab. About 600-700 men & women were examined and provided free medicines.

 
Medical Camp - Kasur Punjab

Medical Camp at Kasur was organized with the help of local Doctors about 300 Men, Women & Child provided free medicines.

 
Medical Camp at Tehsil Gilgit

Medical Camp at Tehsil Gilgit was organized by the bank. About 350 men & women were examined and provided free medicines.

 
Medical Camp at District Diameer Baltistan

In collaboration with Local Hospital, A medical camp was held at Tehsil Darial, District Diameer Baltistan. Majority portion of population live at apex of mountain and they exposed to sun light, which is the main cause of various skin and eye ailment. About 300 men, women and Children were examined and provide free medicine.

 
Medical Camp at Ahmed Nagar Village Gujranwala
With the assistance of Local Doctors and Paramedical Staff, NBP organized a Medical Camp at Village Ahmed Nagar Gujarnawala. About 600-700 men & women were examined and provided free medicines.
 
Eye Camp at Dera Malkana Sharakpur Shaikhupura 

In collaboration with LRBT, NBP organized an Eye Camp at Dera Malkana Shaikhupura. Total 550 Patients were examined 40 Cataract patients were operated upon about 250 eye sight glasses and medicine were distributed.

 
Nathia Gali Medical camp-2012

NBP has organized a free Medical camp at Nathia Gali, KPK. About 400-500 Patients were examined by dedicated Doctors and provided free medicines. Women and Children of the area greatly benefited.

 

Donation to Memon Health Foundation

National Bank has been one of the donor of Memon Health and Education Foundation (MHEF) who have developed international standard Hospital at Safora Goth Karachi. The hospital provide health care facilities and medical services to all needy people of our society who cannot afford expensive treatment.

 
Upgraded Siksa Civil Hospital Baltistan - Siachin

Civil hospital Siksa is located in foothills of Siachin Glacier Baltistan and provides medical cover to people living in surrounding area & villages.The hospital has very limited lifesaving equipment. NBP upgraded the hospital with supply of necessary equipment particularly used in emergency.

 
Donation to Fatimid Foundation (Kidney Centre), Quetta

Fatimid Foundation catering 73 % blood disorder patients from the whole of Pakistan, particularly Thalassemia Patients are the beneficiaries of their Blood bank. Now they have started Kidney Centre in Quetta, Bank Donated towards the cost of the tretment of needy persons.

 
NBP Support - Sub-e-Nau Disability Reduction Program

NBP extended its financial support to Sub-e-Nau that provides disability reduction and rehabilitation facilities to the victims of earth quake and other natural calamities.

 
Equipment Support to Safina Welfare Hopital Hangu Swat, KPK

Safina Welfare Hospital Hangoo Swat is the only Hospital to cater the entire population of Hangu village, Swat. In the absence of Ultrasound Machine, Patients ha d to travel long distance for diagnosis. To reduced the misery of local population, an Ultrasound machine has been donated by the bank.

 
Donation to Mukhtran Rafiqu welfare Trust

The Foundation is a Non Profit / Non Political social welfare entity, Every day about 300 underprivileged patients are benefiting with the medical attention free of cost facilties at the Hospital. Since its on going social work, bank also finanacially supported the cause.

 
Equipment Support to Ganga Ram Hospital

To fight against the future spell of dengue fever, NBP provided 2 Hematology Analyzer machine to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore. The Hematology machine is Fully Automated plus Whole Blood Model.

 
Equipment Support to Wajeeha Thalassemia Centre Swat
NBP has donated the most critical Machine of a Blood Bank - a Centrifuge. This is the first such Machine in the seven District Hospitals of the Malakand Division. This machine separates whole blood into its main components (Red Blood, Plasma and Platelets). Red Blood are used to transfuse thalassemia patients.
 
Donation to Sind Institute of Urology Transplant (SIUT)

The SIUT Karachi is a charitable trust, established in November 2005. Hospital provides free of cost treatment to underprivileged people from all over the country. Dr. Adeeb ul Hassan Rizvi, a well renown urologist has started kidney center in Sukkur. NBP financially supported SIUT in their great cause wherein patients from all over Sind, Punjab and Baluchistan are availing the Dialysis & Surgery facilities.

 
Donation to Poor Patients Aid Society Civil Hospital Karachi

The poor patients Aid Society (PPSA) is a non profitable, non Secterarian charity organization help and benefit the poor and non affording patients coming to the Civil Hospital Karachi. Bank partricipate as one of the donor of this Society.

 
Begum Noor Memorial Charity Hospital Chkwal

To provide the medical facilities at the door step of rural population of Chakwal, Bin Qutub Foundation started building a Hospital which will provide life saving tretment and essential medical care facilities to poor families of the area. NBP also adopted an Emergency Trauma Centre for life time.

 

NBP continue support Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre

The NBP extended period of adoptation of female ward to extend the financial support at MALC, which is nonprofit organization and provides treatment to Leprosy patients from all over Pakistan.

 
Donation to Thalassemia Foundation(AMTF)

Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) is endeavoring to provide care for Thalassemia patients irrespective of cast and creed under one roof with 5 bedded ICU facilities available to a child of common man free of cost. In addition AMTF has started Thalassemia heart clinic and Thalassemia eye clinic. As corporate partrner NBP continued supporting the cause.

 
Bank Support Medical Aid Foundation

Medical Aid Foundation, which runs Rahat Kada, is the only charity hospital in Karachi. It provides intensive care to cancer patients so they can spend last days of their lives in dignity and comfort. Bank is also one of the donor.

 
Development of Maternity Home at GN Rind Complex Sakrand

The Ghulam Nabi Rind Foundation is developing welfare complex with the object to provide educational, economic, health and social welfare services under one roof for the benefit of under privilege population of Sakrand Nawabshah. Since maternity home is the need of women and Child, NBP supported the development of Maternity home.

 
Patient welfare Association (Mayo Hospital Lahore)

To identify the hepatitis virus, a test called Polymerase Chain reaction (PCR) is necessary. As PCR machine is not avilabale at Mayo Hospital, poor people are facing great diffculty to pay the test charges from private hospitals. To relief the poor people the Patient welfare Association manage to procure PCR machine and installed at Mayo Hospital, on Installment basis. Donors and corporate partners like NBP are contributing to pay the installments.

 
Equipment Support - Maternal and Child Health Centre at Gadap

HELP is Non profit organization that provides primary health care facilities in various slum areas of Karachi. With the help of local phila nth ropist, they developed a hospital in the Gadap area. Bank provided equipment support for the maternity ward.

 
Donation to maintain Hygenic condition at NICH centre Karachi.

NICH is a prime institution of the country recognized nationally and internationally. It provides treat ment for all types of pediatric diseases, equipped with diagnostic gadgetries. Bank donate d towards one of the NICH’s project "Pollusion free Enviorment" for the benefit of patients and their families.
